This Friday (October 12) The San Diego Center for the Blind is having a Luncheon to celebrate "White Cane Safety Day."
By Whitehouse decree: The familiar "white cane" is recognized as a tool of independence that enables the blind and visually impaired to participate in the facets of daily life.
Scheduled for 11:30 am. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 12 at the Prado in Balboa Park, the local celebration is in honor of national “White Cane Safety Day,”officially recognized on October 15 of each year.
I actually really like the Prado for it's atmosphere and location (can't go wrong hanging out in Balboa Park for a day), so if you can go to the Prado AND celebrate something good, heck, win-win.
