Just got off the phone with Vanessa

She told me that PB is OKAY (phew) and that she has a call out to Rachelle about her current situation, to see how it's going. Vanessa's been moving from Del Mar to PB lately, and can't believe they are calling for evacuations in Solana Beach (last we talked, I'll have to check to see if it's still the case).

She also told me that it was raining ash and "I just looked in the mirror and I've got ash all over my hair, gross."

Tonight people are meeting at her place in PB, headquarters. Gathering the troops together to make sure we're all in one piece.

This is Vanessa's first big San Diego fire (she just got here, via Arizona) and apparently, it's as much her watching TV to see what's going on as anything else. My first big San Diego fire I had to evacuate, we ran to PB also and watched the ash fall from the sky.

Prayers for those who are evacuating.
