Be there or be spending your $8 on something else

According to The Boston Globe the Hotel Salomar is cool. You should go there and get yourself an $8 drink.

The J6bar is a sweet spot to watch the sun set. Cushy lounge chairs surround an illuminated lap pool, and guests can order signature fresh-fruit cocktails (try the mango piƱa colada, $8) and light, California-style plates (the house spin on chips and dip features hummus, homemade artichoke dip, sweet onion flatbread, and fennel-coriander water crackers, $18) from the curving bar with its thatched roof.

There seems to be a lot of rooftop, downtown hot spots popping up. However, by the looks of the pool, I'll bet for a weekender "hanging at the Salomar" crowd.
