In a surprise move the Mayor of San Diego backed the City Council in its support of same sex marriage laws. Came as even a surprise to me, not only did he apparently talk about his lesbian daughter and being unable to justify thinking about her relationship as different then his own, but he also fought back tears.
Showing human emotion? Going with your gut feeling and reversing your past public opposition to same-sex marriage? Being honest with the voters and not trying to spin it?
I'd say the man's gone crazy... or (dated reference coming up) totally Bulworth. But maybe he's gone a little sane and practical... which in the world of politics is completely bat shit crazy (Ponder that a while).
