I'm not feeling inspired about this weekend

Feels like it's one of those weekends where, really, you should go a little lo pro, take a moment to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate on the beach, hang out at your favorite local bar, see a movie, eat a nice Sunday breakfast, and take it easy.

So here goes:

A friday night dinner.

I call this the absolute greatest dinner of all time, salad and a big piece (or two pieces if you are feeling up to it) of gourmet cake. I can't tell you what kind to get since they change all the time, but just walking in to the store and spying what is, a dessert paradise, is worth it. And the salad is so you feel REALLY good about eating the salad and then EVEN BETTER eating the cake.

Bonus: you could check it out after the movie if you wanted, open LATE!

A friday night movie.

Cinema Under the Stars is an outdoor theatre, complete with the most comfy lounge chair seats and a great atmosphere, you can't go wrong with a blanket, some coffee and a bag of popcorn. This weekends showing is The Usual Suspects (spoiler alert, Kevin Spacey, well I won't ruin it for you random person who never watches movies).

A Saturday meet for drinks, that will turn in to appetizers, that will turn in to dinner that will turn in to late night tacos at the taco place down the street.

I love The Turquoise (AKA Cafe Bar Europa) and am of sound mind NOT to tell anyone else about it, being that I want to keep it all to myself. But I also know that since I'm quickly becoming an old fart, I probably won't make it there on those busy Friday and Saturday nights. The atmosphere is cafe/bar/Europe (get it?), lots of low lighting, candles, a friendly owner, even friendlier bartenders and really good very affordable food. Order a Turquoise (one of those girly, blue colored Martini type drinks), settle in and make a night of it. Music will most likely be jazzy, uptempo, fun.

A Sunday Breakfast/Brunch/Hang with friends

Not a lot of peeps talk about this place in particular BUT it's a great place to hang out on a Sunday. (If you choose to go during the busiest hours for brunch then be prepared to wait). Plus they have the best Carmel Milk (hot) ever, with homemade whip cream! You can sit outside and enjoy the San Diego neighborhood vibe OR sit inside and enjoy the eclectic decor. Sit and chat with friends. Eat some really good French Toast.

Or stay in all weekend and watch reruns. I prefer this.
