And here comes Balboa Park's December Nights (presentd by Barona).
I love December Nights. I planned on being there even though (present time) I don't LIVE in San Diego (that's how much I loved December Nights). It's about as winter as you're going to get in San Diego, with hot chocolate, chiors singing Christmas Carols and little kids wearing hats and sweaters (yep, sweaters).
Often times a little crowded, it's worth wading through the people to watch the free ballet shows, the school performances, ooo, the Kettle Corn. I love that smell, sweet cinnamon with a hint of butter, pop, pop, corn. You can pick up a few nice gifts, handmade, local. And if you swing by the artists village you can visit Santa Claus, ask for that present you've been hoping for and check out the local artist hoozits and whatsits.
It's a few months away but MARK your calendars.
