Trolley Dances 2007: October 6, 7

I've always told people life is just a musical waiting to happen, you just have to know when you embrace your musical moment (either the gayest OR most girly sentence I've ever written, but I don't care).

I've had several, the last being outside a Rite Aid when I was just finished having a "discussion" wtih my husband (you know, a "talk") and over the loudspeaker they were playing one of those end of Grey's Anatomy songs where people look all forlorn and are dealing with the consequences of their actions through the ceremony while Merideth does her voice over that gives us our lessons for the episode. So I went with it... had my forlorn moment and then went inside and bought some Charleston Chews (because that's what you do).

Anywho, the director of San Diego Dance Theater has set out to give all San Diegans a musical moment. The Trolley Dances 2007 (flyer above) will give you the chance to watch the dancers of the SD Theater dance around at Trolley stops and in general provide a great break in the every day.

This year’s Trolley Dances will begin at the City College trolley stop at Smart Corner. Explore the diverse and revitalized neighborhoods of the East Village (near Petco Park) and then travel along the trolley line to the newly opened Museum of Contemporary Art at the Santa Fe Depot trolley stop.

You might spend the entire time half expecting someone to bust out in song, but they don't. It's the dancing (choreographed AROUND the site). NOW, someone better not take my idea, or actually someone should take my idea and then tell everyone how I made it up. Musical numbers at random trolley stops, oh man, wouldn't that freak someone out?

Everyone deserves a musical episode.
