And so it begins:

It's about that time of year, where San Diego's Street Festivals go a little bit more holiday, comfy, cozy, hot chocolate, school choir -y. And you can start your look out for "the perfect gift" or "funny little gift for my Mother in Law (you need to get her something)" or "hey, I didn't know I needed one of these but I do."

Craft Fairs abound, Festivals have a lot of Joy, Noel and Cheer, it's all so very whimsical.

So this weekend start your rounds (the upcoming December Nights is one of my absolute favorite things about the holidays in San Diego, even without that SNOW stuff) with The Encinitas Poinsettia Festival.

The Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association is proud to continue North County's premier holiday shopping and entertainment tradition, the Poinsettia Festival Street Fair. Fair-goers and shoppers will enjoy a wide variety of arts, crafts, gifts and food from the 450 vendor booths lining the Coast Highway from D to J Streets. Live entertainment at the Lumberyard Courtyard Stage and the Community Stage feature the best in local talent. And of course, the finest in sit-down food will be offered by Downtown's popular restaurants.

Mmmm, hot chocolate.
